On February 4, 2020, “Workshop and Seminar for Environmental Business Potential in Pacific Island Countries”, which was hosted by ICETT (International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer, URL:http://www.icett.or.jp), was held in NAGOYA INNOVATORS GARAGE. Mr. Saito, Director of PIC, attended the program as one of the lecturers.
Over many years, ICETT has supported private sectors in Chubu area in transferring their environmental technology to Asian developing countries. ICETT hold this seminar and workshop to provide a spark for start-up, because ICETT recently puts extra focus on Pacific Island’s waste plastic treatment operations.
70 people from private and public sectors who engage in waste materials treatment in Mie Prefecture, Yokkaichi City and Nagoya City gathered the venue and participated in the program. They listened attentively to the lectures and had a lively exchange of views in the workshop.
Director Mr. Saito explained about PIC’s current activity and social & economic traits of Pacific Island Countries during the lecture titled “Business activity in Pacific Island Countries – attractiveness and points of attention “.
He also mentioned about crucial points of business in those countries, especially over 4 industries (Environmental business, Pilot program, Low-Tech industry, Business investment) by referring to the practical example of Japanese firm.
PIC promotes further cooperative relations with ICETT to develop environment business in Pacific Islands Countries, through Joint Public Private Economic Mission to Fiji scheduled in the end of February 2020 as a first onset for the future.
