Mr. Nelson Manepura, Tourism Solomons’ Marketing Officer in charge of Asian Countries, Mr. Kensuke Nishida currently serves for Tourism Solomons as a member of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers by JICA and Mr. Kazuyoshi Ogawa, Chairman of Solomon Islands Tourism Office in Japan visited Pacific Islands Centre (PIC) on Wednesday, 4th of December.

On December 3rd, these three gentlemen appeared on the stage of “Solomon Islands Seminar” which was co-hosted by Solomon Islands Tourism Office in Japan as well as Tourism Solomons and gave presentations for the relevant companies and organizations about appeal of Solomon Islands.

Mr. Saito, Director of PIC introduced PIC’s activities and explained about overview of trade, investment and tourism between Japan and Solomon Islands, based on the statistical Handbook for 2019 published by PIC.
Mr. Nelson reported a current summary mainly on tourism industry of Solomon Islands. Then, both parties engaged in a lively exchange of ideas and information followed by the agreement on still deepening the collaboration in an effort to expand tourism business of both Japan and Solomon Islands.
