Mr. James Willie, Officer of Department of Finance and Treasury, Republic of Vanuatu, visited PIC

On Monday, 30th September, Mr. James Willie, Officer of Department of Finance and Treasury, Republic of Vanuatu visited Pacific Islands Centre(PIC).

He is in master course in the Ritsumeikan University as a part of Pacific-LEADS program(*); training program for young leaders in the Pacific, organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He receives an intern seminar of two weeks at the Institute of Developing Economies of Japan External Trade Organization and paid courtesy call to PIC.

Mr. Saito, Director of PIC, explained about PIC’s activities, progress status of Vanuatu-Japan private sector’s business while he briefed overview of trade, investment and tourism of Japan based on PIC’s “Statistics Handbook 2019”.
In the meantime, Mr. Willie reported present summary focusing on agriculture, fishery and tourism of Vanuatu.

They engaged in a lively exchange of ideas and information and agreed with the wider and deeper collaboration aiming to strengthen ties between Japan and Vanuatu, especially in trade and tourism fields.
