19 university students visiting Japan under the “JENESYS 2022 Phase 2” exchange program visited PIC

On December 11th 2023, 19 university students from Pacific Island countries who came to Japan as part of “JENESYS 2022 Phase 2” exchange program for promoting understanding of Japan implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan visited PIC.

After the Welcome Speech by Mr. Saito, PIC Director, in the show-room of the PIC, all the participants toured the exhibits, etc., and then moved to a different location for a lecture from Deputy Director of PIC on the outline of the PIC’s projects and activities including Glocal Tourism Network.

“JENESYS” is a people-to-people exchange program between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region and was launched in 2015. Approximately 23,000 people have participated in the inbound and outbound programs since 2015. Objectives are to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation and to encourage an understanding of Japan’s economics, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations.
