Report: Participation in The 4th Local Community Forum “Community Exchange between Japan and the Pacific Islands Toward the Post-Covid Era: Focusing on the Relationship with Fiji

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Deputy Director, PIC participated as a speaker at the 4th Local Community Forum “Community Exchange between Japan and Pacific Islands in the Post-Covid Era: Focusing on the Relationship with Fiji” hosted by the Association of Design about Strategy for Zone Industry and Zone Brand (ADSZIZB) and gave a lecture on the attractiveness of Fiji tourism in post-Covid and PIC’s efforts to promote Pacific Island countries as tourist destinations.

The three-hour and half forum started with an opening speech by the moderator, Associate Professor Kurosaki of Tokai University, followed by a lecture on “Community Development in Fiji” by Professor Konosu of Osaka Gakuin University and “Free Bird’s Business Description” by Mr. Taniguchi, CEO of Free Bird (a high school and language school operator in Fiji). The event was held in person only this time.

As this was a face-to-face event, participants were able to exchange opinions directly with each other and it was a very lively exchange of ideas.
