On February 28, Pacific Islands Center (PIC) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) jointly held the second study session in a hybrid format. Following the first study session (2021), a large number of people participated again this time and we reaffirmed the high level of interest in the renewable energy sector. (158 registered participants)
The session began with an opening address by Mr. Saito, Director of PIC, followed by a summary of the results of the report on the energy situation of Pacific Island countries, which was released last December, from Kaihatsu Management Consulting Consulting, Inc., who was in charge of the survey. And each person in charge explained about JICA’s Oceania regional energy cooperation and SMEs and SDGs business support projects. At the end of the session, there was a Q&A session, where both the online participants and the audience had a lively exchange of opinions.
PIC will continue to exchange information closely with related organizations and provide information that will serve as a reference for companies considering expanding businesses to the Pacific.
