From September 19th to 29th, Tonga Tourism Ministry officers, Ms. Melesungu Pule and Ms. Simata-e-laa Palu, participated in PIC’s internship program. They are studying International Development at Nagoya University currently as government-sponsored international students and worked as interns at PIC during summer vacation.
For the duration of this internship program, they interviewed people from traveling agencies, airlines and other Pacific Islands' government tourist offices to listen to the current situation of the tourism industry in Japan.
Also, they made presentation on the tourism in Tonga at Tonga Tourism Seminar that was hosted by PIC on the 28th.
On the last day, they had a meeting with PIC staffs to discuss about how they would utilize their experiences of the internship in their work at the Tourism Ministry and how they can cooperate with PIC.
It is very much hoped that they would flourish in the future.
