On Thursday, 5th of September, 2020, Mr. Kamal Chetty, Investment and Trade Manager of Investment Fiji and Ms. Toshinaga of UNIDO visited PIC and exchanged views over trade and investment between Japan and Fiji.
Mr. Chetty appealed Fiji’s strong economic growth, by referring to steady trade relation between Japan and Fiji which has been in an almost constant rising trend. PIC noted that many Japanese companies, especially greenhouse hydroponics companies and energy field company such as solar and wind power plants, have much interest in business development in Fiji. Under such circumstances, PIC and Investment Fiji have agreed to cooperate closely in building and materializing these business cases by utilizing network of both sides.
Next year, 2020, is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Japan and Fiji. PIC and Investment Fiji also agreed to continue to strengthen mutual relations encouraging greater friendship and further development of both countries.
