On October 22, 2026, T.H. Elina P. Akinaga, Secretary of the Secretary of the Department of Resources and Development(DoRD), and her team, Ms. Yvonne Johnny, Assistant Secretary, and Mr. Keenen, Program Manager, visited the Pacific Islands Center (PIC) to exchange views on the public-private joint economic mission scheduled for next February.

The delegation was in Japan from October 20 to 24, accompanying Wesley W. Shimina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia.

DoRD and the PIC agreed to continue collaborating in preparation for next year’s public-private joint economic mission. The PIC will continue to promote the appeal of the Pacific Island nations, including the FSM, to Japan.
