The Pacific Islands Centre (PIC) will hold the Japan-Pacific Islands Virtual Trade EXPO on Friday, October 16, 2026, a virtual trade show using metaverse technology. This is the first initiative of its kind for PIC.

A new way to reach the Japanese market

The EXPO aims to introduce beauty-related brands from Pacific Island countries to buyers in Japan.

In May this year, Pacific Island brands exhibited at Beautyworld Japan. However, many companies were unable to travel to Japan for various reasons. A virtual venue removes the barriers of distance and cost, so more companies can meet Japanese buyers. Alongside the brands that exhibited at Beautyworld, companies that could not come to Japan will also take part as exhibitors, bringing Pacific Island beauty businesses together in one virtual space.

An online venue where you can interact through avatars

At the venue, participants use avatars to walk through the exhibition booths and talk or chat with exhibitors and PIC staff. It offers an experience close to a real trade show, a place to present products and company stories and to spark business conversations.

PIC will continue to create opportunities for Pacific Island companies to connect with the Japanese market.
