On 29 September 2026, Mr. Kadoi Ruluked, Managing Director of the Palau Visitors Authority, together with Ms. Kiruu Kanai, Marketing Representative, Ms. Geena Gerald, Strategic Analyst, and Mr. Yasuki Shimomura, JICA Expert on Tourism Development, visited the Pacific Islands Centre (PIC) to exchange views on promoting tourism to Palau.

The delegation was in Japan to take part in Tourism EXPO Japan, held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 24 to 27.

During the meeting, PIC gave an overview of the tourism promotion projects it has carried out to date and discussed the potential for educational travel to Palau. Mr. Ruluked then shared the Authority’s expectations for the Japanese market and its plans going forward.

Both organizations agreed to continue working closely together. PIC will continue to promote the appeal of Palau and other Pacific Island countries to Japan.
