On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, we visited Embassy of Independent State of Samoa in Japan and met with Ambassador Sila. PIC Director Saito provided an overview of the “Pacific Island Countries Economic Recovery Project,” including its completion and the findings of the research report conducted under this project. He also touched on the results of the online seminars conducted and planned based on the report. He also gave an overview of the “Pacific Discovery Project,” a tourism promotion project currently underway, and its effects. Ambassador Sila has explained about the Samoa National Day held at the Expo site in June, the Samoa Pavilion, and her hope to use the event as an opportunity to promote Samoan products in Japan, to which PIC responded that it would provide as much support as possible.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Sira thanked PIC for its business support to Samoa and advised PIC to continue to cooperate with the “PACIFIC-JAPAN e-BUSINESS” business matching platform and agreed to continue working together for the economic development between both countries.
