About the “Japan and Pacific Island Countries Glocal Tourism Network”
The first thematic-subcommittee meeting
Thematic Subcommittee: “Tourism Development by utilization of Volcano”
The topic of the second thematic subcommittee is “How to utilize volcanoes as a tourism resource”.
One of the common features between Japan and Pacific Island Countries/regions is ‘volcanoes’. Both countries/regions have many volcanoes, and many people are fascinated by the incredible energy of volcanoes. Tourist destinations with volcanoes offer tourists a variety of activities utilizing the volcanoes.
The speakers are Miyakejima Tourist Association from Japan, Samoa Tourism Authority from Samoa, and South Pacific Tours (tourism company) from Vanuatu. They will exchange opinions on how they utilize volcanoes as tourism resources and what activities they would like to do with volcanoes in the future.
Those who are interested in tourism in Japan and Pacific Island Countries and those who want to learn about tourism development using natural resources such as volcanoes will find this event informative and useful.
