On November 21 (Tuesday), PIC Director Saito participated in the Meeting of the Officials of Pacific Island Leaders Meeting & Governors (PALM&G) Network for FY2023 held in Shizuoka City.

The event was attended by representatives of PALM&G members’ prefectures and embassies of Pacific Island Countries in Japan, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, JICA, and PIC as observers.

Active discussions were held to strengthen the relationship between Japanese local governments and Pacific Island Countries through people to people exchanges and cooperative projects, mainly in the fields of healthcare, environment, and sports.
