On December 20 (Tuesday) Mr. E. R. Woheng, Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs,
Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG), visited PIC.
During an hour meeting, firstly PIC Director Saito explained overview of PIC’s activity,
assistance to PNG’s private companies and the current situation and challenges of trade, investment and tourism between PNG and Japan. Secretary Woheng highly commended the PIC’s activity, referred to economic policies (such as the development of high value-added primary products and diversification of export products) and requested further support from PIC in developing the Japanese market and attracting Japanese companies to invest in the country.
Both persons agreed to continue to work together to expand business between PNG and Japan.
