19 university students and others coming to Japan as part of the “JENESYS 2022” exchange program visited PIC

On 26th, 19 university students and others from the Pacific Island countries who came to Japan as part of the “JENESYS 2022” exchange program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited PIC followed by a lecture on the outline of the PIC activities.

“JENESYS” is a people-to-people exchange program between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region and was launched in 2015. Approximately 23,000 people have participated in the inbound and outbound programs since 2015. Objectives are to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation and to encourage an understanding of Japan’s economics, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations.

The Deputy Director of PIC explained the role of PIC and the outline of its projects as well as activities and people-to-people exchanges to promote businesses between Japan and FICs from the perspectives of trade, investment, and tourism.

They were able to come to Japan for the first time in about three years, and they  seemed to enjoy the program very much!!
