Attendance at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) “FLOWERS Conference”

The “FLOWERS (Freely Linked Opportunities With Efforts and Results) Conference,” established and led by the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF)—a multi-stakeholder platform bringing together government, industry, academia, and civil society to promote substantive and candid dialogue between Japan and Pacific Island countries—was held over two days on March 10 and 11, 2026, at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation’s International Conference Hall (11th floor) in Tokyo, in a closed-door format.

During the conference, active and open exchanges of views took place among participants, based on themes set for each respective field. From the Pacific Islands Centre (PIC), the Deputy Director attended the conference and delivered a presentation in Session 1, “Trade and Investment.”
