Overview
On September 15–16, 2025, the Pacific Islands Centre (PIC), the Association for Promotion of International Cooperation (APIC), and the Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA) jointly hosted the Vanuatu Economic and Environmental Mission with being co-hosted by the Japanese embassy in Vanuatu and Sophia University. The event brought together over 100 participants, including representatives from 14 Japanese companies and key figures from the Vanuatu government and private sectors.
Purpose
To strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and environmental sectors between Japan and Vanuatu, and to deepen mutual understanding of business needs and opportunities.
Highlights
- Direct meetings with H.E. Vanuatu’s Minister of Tourism, Trade, Commerce, and Ni-Vanuatu Business.
- Business presentations from Japanese companies, some of which received interest for product purchasing during the mission.
- Media coverage by local outlets on both days, reflecting strong interest in the initiative.

Outcome
