Co-hosts: Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Tokyo, Ministry for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communication Fiji, Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry (METI), Japan External Trade and Organization (JETRO), Pacific Islands Centre (PIC) and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF).
Fiji is participating in the Expo 2025 Osaka, under the theme “Sustainable Connectivity: Harmonizing Lives for a Resilient Future,” with a focused Fiji Mini-Business Mission exploring the investment opportunities and offering investors direct access to decision-makers and in-depth insights into Fiji’s strategic investment landscape. Occurring concurrently with Expo 2025 in Osaka, this seminar will provide a dedicated platform for Japanese investors and partners to engage directly with Fiji’s leadership and key stakeholders, with targeted strategic outcomes in reducing import dependency, safeguarding foreign reserves, and attracting investment in high-growth sectors.
Furthermore, during the PALM Summit in July 2024, the signing of the MOC between Investment Fiji and Japan External Trade and Organization (JETRO) forged new pathways for economic growth. This seminar aims to reassess the current state of Japan-Fiji business exchange in the various sectors in Fiji, and opportunities particularly in sectors aligned with Fiji’s resilience goals—sustainable tourism, climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and the digital economy—while simultaneously advancing crucial climate adaptation partnerships.
The seminar will cover investment trends and opportunities.
We hope that through this seminar, we can gain new insights into the evolving Japan-Fiji bilateral relationship.
*Talks will be in English, but Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
