On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, PIC visited the Embassy of the Republic of Palau in Tokyo and met with Ambassador Adelbai and Deputy Chief of Mission Nicolescu. During the meeting, we exchanged views on efforts to further expand business between the two countries, taking advantage of the re-launch of direct flights between Narita and Palau in October.
Ambassador Adelbai mentioned business opportunities for Japanese companies in a wide range of fields, including fisheries, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, and waste management.
The PIC explained its support through the planned dispatch of its staff to Palau and the 8th Japan-Pacific Island Countries Glocal Tourism Network focusing on Palau this month.
Both parties will continue to work together to expand business between the two countries.
