〔Supported by PIC〕【The 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Papua New Guinea】 The 42nd Special Exhibition “PAPUA x JOMON Thinking about the Mysteries of Jomon Culture: Papua New Guinea Ethnic Magazine”

The Prefectural Archeological Museum will hold the 42nd special exhibition “PAPUA x JOMON Thinking about the Mysteries of Jomon Culture: Papua New Guinea’s Ethnic Magazine”.

Based on the pottery materials of Papua New Guinea, which Waseda University has been conducting research and research for many years, and the valuable cultural assets of Region, Oceania, which is stored in the university, the type of pottery that is deeply connected to rituals and spiritual culture. In particular, by comparing it to pottery from the Jomon period, the expression of cultural commonality and spirituality beyond the Region is explored.

PIC has also contributed to the exhibition by lending furnishings and artifacts related to Papua New Guinea from its own collection, which will be on display during the exhibition period.
