On Friday, 13 June 2025, we visited Embassy of the Republic of Palau in Japan and met with Ambassador Adelbai and Deputy Chief of Mission Nicolescu. The PIC Director explained the completion of “Pacific Island Countries Economic Recovery Project” and contents of the survey report conducted under this project. In particular, there was an open exchange of views on the future collaborations between Japanese companies and Palau in the fields of investment, trade, and tourism. Additionally, an overview of the ongoing tourism promotion project “Pacific Discovery Project” was shared, along with details and comments from influencers who had actually visited Palau.

Ambassador Adelbai expressed gratitude for PIC’s support for projects in Palau and also suggested recommendations for Palau　companies to be listed on the business matching platform ‘PACIFIC-JAPAN e-BUSINESS,’ as well as proposals for PIC staff to engage with local companies and chambers of commerce. Both parties agreed to continue discussions on these matters.
