On Saturday 31 May 2025, PIC held the 7th seminar ‘Let’s learn about “NOW”! The latest information on tourism in Pacific Island countries’ in the ‘Glocal Tourism Network’ (hereinafter referred to as “the Network”). (Number of online registrants: 53, including 2 island country registrants; number of participants at the venue (seated): approx. 70 plus many others who attended the event).

This time, a tourism PR event for Pacific Island countries was held as part of Pacific Discovery Project (PDP), a tourism promotion project for Pacific Island countries, at the ‘Festival Station’ event venue of Expo 2025 (Osaka/Kansai Expo). The 7th seminar was entitled ‘Let’s learn about “NOW”! The latest information on tourism in Pacific Island countries’ was broadcast live from the event venue (hybrid transmission). Local Japanese tourism operators in Palau, Fiji, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea were connected online to provide a realistic view of the situation on the ground. The second half of the seminar was very exciting, with a tourism presentation offered to all visitors to the venue, who were entered into a lucky draw.
