PIC Director Saito met with Hon. Richard Maru, Minister of International Trade and Investment of Papua New Guinea, who was visiting Japan, at the Papua New Guinea Embassy in Tokyo on Monday, May 19. The meeting was attended by officials of the Ministry and Ambassador Samuel Abal and other Embassy staff.

Mr. Saito explained PIC’s trade and investment promotion activities between Japan and Papua New Guinea and requested Ministry’s support for further expansion of such activities. Mr. Maru outlined various measures to further develop economic relations between Papua New Guinea and Japan, as well as exchange projects such as the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025. It was agreed to strengthen relations between the two countries in order to expand business with Papua New Guinea by Japanese companies.
