The Sixth Seminar of “Japan and Pacific Island Countries Glocal Tourism Network”, “Real report on Pacific Island Countries”, will be held on 22 May 2025. The event details are as follows.
The sixth seminar theme is “Real report on Pacific Island Countries”. Pacific Islands Center (PIC) is currently implementing the Pacific Discovery Project (PDP), with the aim of raising awareness of Pacific Island Countries in Japan and increasing the number of tourists traveling from Japan to the 14 target countries. So far, influencers and student ambassadors have been dispatched to each country to report on attractive local spots, culture and events via SNS and videos. In this seminar a representative in charge of PDP who is familiar with the Pacific Island countries will introduce the characteristics and attractions of some countries, along with the progress of the project. In addition, the consultants who made a tourism guidebook of 14 Pacific Island Countries + 2 regions published last year will introduce the tourism resources of each country.
