On Friday 14 March 2025, PIC hosted a reception at Josui Kaikan to celebrate the visit of Hon. Baron Waga, Secretary-General of Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), and his delegation, and to support the strengthening of network among diplomatic missions, the relevant ministries, private companies and international organisations that have regular relations with Pacific Island Countries.

 The reception began with opening remarks by Hon. Baron Waga, followed by a welcome address by H.E. Okuyama, Ambassador for Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting, MOFA Japan, and a toast by H.E. Dr. Tevita Suka MANGISI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Tonga in Japan. In the second half of the reception, Ms. Finau Sogo, General Manager of PRF, gave a brief speech on the PRF and thanked the Japanese Government for its support, and the event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Saito, PIC Director.
