JENESYS 2024, an exchange program to promote understanding of Japan

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan’s ‘JENESYS 2024’ program for promoting understanding of Japan is now in full swing, and PIC has provided support for the following program. Objectives of this program are to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation and to encourage an understanding of Japan’s economics, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations.

About 80 high school students from Pacific Island Countries visited PIC

Following the recent university student programme, high school students from Pacific Island countries visited the PIC and were given a lecture by the PIC on the project overview.
The 35 students from Group 1 visited on 27 February and the 45 students from Group 2 on 13 March. PIC Deputy Director explained the role of the PIC as the only public institution for Pacific Island Countries, the outline of PIC’s projects, as well as its activities to promote exchanges between Japan and Pacific Island Countries from the viewpoint of trade, investment and tourism, and the personnel exchange projects.
