The Fifth Seminar of “Japan and Pacific Island Countries Glocal Tourism Network”, “Tourism development with consideration for the habitat of dugongs in the Republic of Vanuatu”, will be held on 6 March 2025.

The fifth seminar theme is ” Tourism development with consideration for the habitat of dugongs in the Republic of Vanuatu”.
In this fifth seminar, we are pleased to invite Mr. Hirotaka Doyama of South Pacific Tours (SPT), which offers a unique tour that is closely connected to the local community, including tours where you can swim with dugongs. He will introduce the efforts to develop tourism businesses with consideration for the environment.
The seminar will be informative and enjoyable for anyone interested in environmentally friendly tourism: not only for those who want to see or learn about the dugong, which is an endangered species, but also for those who are interested in the issues to be considered when using biodiversity and the natural environment as tourism resources, and the attitudes expected of tourists.
