JENESYS 2024, an exchange program to promote understanding of Japan

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan’s ‘JENESYS 2024’ program for promoting understanding of Japan is now in full swing, and PIC has provided support for the following program. Objectives of this program are to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation and to encourage an understanding of Japan’s economics, society, history, diverse culture, politics and diplomatic relations.

  • Papua New Guinea Dispatch Program
    The dispatch program to Papua New Guinea for university and postgraduate students was decided to be implemented, and at the online orientation held on 17 January, an overview of Papua New Guinea and a lecture on the relationship with PIC project were given.

・About 80 university students and others from Pacific Island Countries visited PIC
University students from Pacific Island Countries who came to Japan visited PIC and were given a lecture by PIC on the overview of the PIC project.
40 students from Groups 1 & 2 visited on 23 January and 40 students from Groups 3 & 4 visited on 30 January. PIC Deputy Director explained about the PIC’s role as the only public institution for Pacific Island Countries, the outline of PIC’s projects, activities to promote exchanges between Japan and the Pacific Island Countries in terms of trade, investment and tourism, as well as the Personnel Exchange Program.
