The 30th Pacific Islanders Club Meeting was successfully held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
This PIC Meeting marked the 30th anniversary. At the time of the first meeting in 2009, we set forth the following philosophy
“As friends and well-wishers of Pacific Islander Countries, we aim to strengthen cooperative relations with Pacific Island countries through mutual information sharing among our members, regardless of organizational affiliation or title, who are engaged in work to promote friendship, goodwill, economic cooperation, investment, trade, and tourism between Japan and Pacific Island Countries.”
We recognize the importance of this philosophy and will continue to hold roundtables in the future.
Although this meeting was held on a smaller scale than in the past, with approximately 50 participants, and the content was intense, with 2 hours passing quickly.
In the first half (Part 1), Professor Izumi Kobayashi of Osaka Gakuin University/Chairman of JAPIA and Mr. Yamamoto of Sakano Tochu Co., Ltd., who is involved in the coffee business, gave a lecture, and the second half (Part 2), after a greeting from Mr. Kitagawa, Director of Oceania Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was a networking time with the participants and became a place for active exchange of opinions.
