On Wednesday, October 2, PIC visited the Embassy of the Kingdom of Tonga in Japan and met with Ambassador T. Suka Mangisi.

The PIC Director reported on the overall activities of the PIC, including the “Pacific Island Countries Economic Recovery Project” and support for sales promotion of Tongan products such as mozuku seaweed and coffee to Japan.
Ambassador Mangisi gave an explanation on the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ Meeting held in Tonga at the end of August, as well as Tonga’s trade, tourism, security, and other issues.

We will continue to work closely with the embassy to expand business between Japan and Tonga.
