On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the PIC visited the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Tokyo and met with Ambassador Filimone Waqabaca and First Secretary Kelera Savu. At the beginning of the meeting, PIC Director introduced Fiji’s private sector companies exhibiting coffee and cosmetics products for the Japanese market at various exhibitions under the “Pacific Island Countries Economic Recovery Project” and Japanese companies’ investment projects in Fiji.

As the discussion was constructive, Ambassador Waqabaca explained that the tourism sector is particularly important for Fiji and that he had personally conducted tourism promotions in various parts of Japan.
