Mr. Christopher Cocker, CEO of Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), visited PIC on Friday, July 12. Mr. Cocker was in Japan to participate in the Pacific Island Nations Weeks.

During his visit to PIC, focusing on renewing the Memorandum of Cooperation, reinforcing PIC’s support for the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE), and discussing SPTO’s involvement in the Pacific Discovery Project, Mr. Cocker emphasized, “this collaboration, and partnership, is about sharing, enhancing, and complementing each other’s strengths to embody a ‘one team’ approach for tourism and private sector development in Japan and the Pacific. Our partnership aims to leverage our combined resources, networks, and expertise.” 

It was agreed that SPTO and PIC will strengthen cooperation between the two organizations in order to expand tourism between Pacific Island Countries and Japan.
