On Monday, July 15, PIFS delegation including newly appointed Secretary General Baron Waqa visited PIC. Mr. Waqa is visiting Japan to participate in the 10th Pacific Islands Leaders　Meeting （PALM10）to be held in Tokyo this week from 16th to 18th.

PIC Director Saito gave an overview of PIC’s recent activities in trade, investment, and tourism with Pacific Islands Countries, followed by a report on the office’s activities by Mr. Haga, Director of the Nauru Tourism Office Japan, who participated as a special guest.

Mr. Waqa expressed his wish to further deepen the cooperation between PIFS and PIC in order to further promote PIC’s vigorous efforts to enhance business between Japan and Pacific Island Countries.
