Pacific Islands Centre takes initiative on the “The Project for Economic Recovery Through Promotion of Trade, Investment and Tourism in Pacific Countries” with the support of the Japanese government, together with PIFS. As part of this project, we have decided to hold a business forum in the fishery sector.
Pacific island countries are aiming to diversify their industries by utilizing their greatest natural resource, marine resources, and to revitalize their domestic economies through this diversification.
They have high expectations for the improvement of value-added products and expansion of employment opportunities in the processing industry, and they are also actively seeking to attract aquaculture businesses from the perspective of protecting marine resources and expanding exports of farmed fish.
This Fisheries Business Forum aims to provide Japanese companies in a wide range of fisheries-related fields with opportunities to engage in fisheries-related businesses in Pacific island countries from various perspectives by introducing the current status and specific examples of fisheries-related businesses in Pacific island countries and business investment support schemes.
This forum will be held in-person only. Please refer to the report article that will be posted after the forum.
