大学との連携では、これまで明治大学が主催するオープン講座の中で、広く一般の人向けに島嶼国の認知拡大を目指しPIC連携講座を受け持ってきました。さらに、地方自治体との連携、研究機関、コンサルティング会社との協力を得て、島嶼国に関わる講演なども行なっています。 その他、インターン生の受け入れ、駐日島嶼国大使館や島嶼国関係機関との協働、JICA、JETRO、UNIDO、UNWTO、SPFなど関係機関とコラボレーション事業、学術分野では上述のJAPIAとの交流を通じて、幅広く日本と島嶼国を結ぶ活動を展開しています。 to strengthen cooperation between the island countries and Japan. In terms of the academic sector, through the exchange with JAPIA, we are developing a wide range of activities to connect Japan and the island countries.新たな取り組みへの挑戦Taking New Initiatives 2020年は新型コロナウイルスの世界的な流行で幕を開けました。この状況に島嶼国は国境封鎖という手段で立ち向かい、なんとか感染を防いできましたが、同時に社会・経済的打撃は大きく、2021年現在も多くの困難に直面しています。 また、地球温暖化による環境の変化に対応すべく、世界の国々が様々な対応を迫られる中、島嶼国は、太平洋に浮かぶ島国として、多くの差し迫った課題に向き合わなければなりません。そのような社会情勢の変化・地球環境の変化に合わせ現地のニーズをより的確に把握し、SDGsを意識した活動や理念を掲げる日本企業や関連団体に対し、的確な情報を提供することがPICの役割の1つとして重要度が高まっています。そのため、島嶼国の現況を把握し、ニーズを拾い上げるための分野別調査事業にも新たに取り組んでいきたいと考えています。 The year 2020 opened with a global epidemic of a new coronavirus. The island countries have managed to prevent the infection by sealing their borders. However, the social and economic impact has been huge, and we are still facing many difculties in 2021. In addition, as countries around the world are forced to take various measures to cope with environmental changes caused by global warming, the island countries have to face many pressing issues as the island countries in the Pacic Ocean. One of the roles of PIC is to provide accurate information to Japanese companies and related organizations that practice SDGs-conscious activities and philosophies, in order to understand the needs of local communities better in response to changing social conditions and the global environment. For this reason, we would like to work on a new sector survey project to understand the current situation of the island countries and grasp their needs.広報Public Relations ウェブサイトに加え、様々なツールを用いた島嶼国関連情報の発信を実施しています。 ソーシャルメディアでは、関係機関協力のもと、各国に関する豆知識やタイムリーな関連ニュースの共有・発信を実施しています。また、ニュースレター「パシフィックブリーズ」（日本語）「e-News from Japan」（英語）では、PICの顧客に向けた最新の情報・今後の事業計画についてお知らせしています。2021年は国内最大の国際協力の祭典グローバル・フェスタに初出展し、島嶼国・PICについて紹介しました。 In addition to our website, we utilize various tools to deliver information related to the Pacic Island Countries. With the support from related organizations, we share timely information and bits of knowledge through SNS. Moreover, our newsletter 'Pacic Breeze (Japanese)' and 'e-News from Japan (English)' informs our clients of the latest news as well as our up-coming activities. In 2021, PIC accomplished its rst participation in the largest festival of international cooperation in Japan 'Global Festa', and introduced its activities and the Pacic Island Countries at the booth.
